Gadolinium belongs to the lanthanide element and is also one of the rare earth elements. Gadolinium has ferromagnetism, and its Curie point is about room temperature (19 ℃, 66 ℉). When a piece of gadolinium is cooled in ice water, it will absorb the magnet, but after being warmed back, gadolinium will detach from the magnet and fall off.
Gadolinium is more stable than other rare earth elements in dry air. Gadolinium has a mild reaction with water and is soluble in dilute acids
Gadolinium sputtering targets(Gd)Product application |
Gadolinium compounds have high paramagnetic properties and can be used as developing agents for nuclear magnetic resonance imaging. "Gadolinium has a strong response to the magnetic field of a magnetic resonance imaging machine. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), injected into a blood vessel in the form of gadolinium methylglucosamine gluconate, can clearly display the flow direction of blood, accurately locate the location of internal bleeding, and observe where blood seeps from the blood vessel using 3D visual images, or observe where blood narrows or stops, to determine the location of vascular obstruction or occlusion.".
